Focused on majors of Geological Resources and Geological Engineering” and “Resources and Environment,” the program offers six English-taught courses: Exogenous Ore Deposit Metallogeny, Endogenous Ore Deposit Metallogeny, Mineral and Oil-Gas Exploration Theory and Case Studies, Big Data and AI in Mineral Exploration, and Field Geology Practice and Lab Skills Training, led respectively by Professors WU Liqun, HAN Jinsheng, FU Lebing, XU Sihuang, WANG Chengbin, and LIU Zerui. Over 40 instructors, including 17 professors and 20-plus associate professors, support the teaching.
Prof. SHEN encouraged the students to stay curious, study hard, and explore the university and Wuhan, gaining both knowledge and friendship.
The program builds on a 2024 inter-university agreement and a 2025 “1+1” training agreement with Uzbekistan's University of Geological Sciences (UGS). Jointly organized by the National College for Elite Engineers, School of Earth Resources, International Education College, and Graduate School, it marks the start of on-campus training in China, turning our geoscience teaching strengths into international talent cultivation capacity and serving China–Uzbekistan cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
