Experiencing China · Quality Voices, Global Echoes (Issue 32): Boundless Compassion Transcends Borders, Loving Hearts Warm Wuhan
The voluntary blood donation campaign themed “Pass Warmth through Blood, Sustain Love with Dedication”, hosted by Wuhan Blood Center, was held on June 5 in International Student Compound of Central China Normal University (CCNU). International students from China University of Geosciences (CUG) were invited.
Together with Chinese and foreign teachers and students from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Hubei University and other universities, they passed on warmth by donating blood and embodied their borderless commitment to public welfare through practical actions.
The event ran from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, aiming to ease the shortage of blood for clinical use and fully promote the volunteer spirit of dedication, friendship, mutual assistance and progress.
Participating students shared that kindness knows no nationality, and it was extremely meaningful to help others and save lives by donating their own blood. The students cooperated in an orderly manner through a full set of procedures including physical examinations, information verification and blood collection.
CUG has long encouraged Chinese and international students to strengthen inter-university exchanges and take an active part in public welfare undertakings. This cross-university blood donation activity serves as a vivid practice of young people from two universities jointly upholding the spirit of volunteer service, and further bridges the gap between Chinese and foreign youth.
Statistics show that nearly 40 Chinese and foreign teachers and students from 4 universities and more than 15 countries successfully donated blood at the event, with a total blood volume exceeding 8,600 milliliters.
CUG’s Quality Voices, Global Echoes team will deepen exchanges and collaboration with sister universities, organizing more Chinese and international students to join public welfare services. We strive to let compassion and warm blood circulate across campuses, and carry forward the spirit of selfless love across national borders for a long time to come.
