On April 10, 2026, the 2026 China International Student Forum themed “Study in China, Connecting the World” was grandly held in Beijing. Hosted by China Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) under the Ministry of Education of China, the event gathered over 200 representatives from universities, overseas institutions in China and enterprises across countries including the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Indonesia and Australia. Faculty members from our university were invited to attend the forum.

A course entitled Unveiling Earth's Secrets: Safeguarding Our Common Home, developed by a team led by Assoc Professor Liu Fujiang from CUG, has been successfully selected into the Study Tour China Program. It has become a vital vehicle for CUG to showcase the charm of geosciences and promote ecological civilization concepts to young people worldwide.

Drawing on the university’s disciplinary strengths in geosciences and practical experience in ecological civilization development, the course centers on the core theme of geoscience exploration plus ecological protection. It designs learning modules with both academic depth and practical interest, including simulated geological field expeditions, ecosystem surveys and case studies.

The course aims to enable global youth to experience the allure of earth sciences in mobile classrooms and understand the Chinese philosophy of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.

Initiated by the China Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE), the Study Tour China program integrates the resource consolidation strengths of the Center, as well as disciplinary advantages and academic support capacities of universities to jointly develop featured courses. The program aims to further elevate the Study in China brand, advance the development of a strong education nation and high-level opening-up in education, enrich the connotation and quality of international education in China, and promote high-quality and sustainable development of international study tour programs.

CUG will further optimize the curriculum design of the Study Tour China courses, deepen the integration of geoscience popularization, ecological concept communication and international talent cultivation, and contribute the strengths of CUG to building China into a major global education hub with international influence.
